AFC Leopards’ lead striker and current Betking Premier League top scorer Elvis Rupia says his goal is to lead his team to the BPL title this season.
Leopards have started their season strongly by winning their first two matches of the season. Rupia has been at the center of it all scoring the winning goals in both matches.
The former Nzoia Sugar and Wazito FC forward now says it will be a dream come true if he helps Leopards end its 22-year long league drought.
“I want to help the team win the league title, I think that will be my biggest achievement as a player. The team comes first and so everything that we do individually as players is meant to help the team rise to greater heights,” he stated.
“Our team last won the league over 20 years ago and everyone in the team wants to bring this barren run to an end. We hope to make our fans smile this season,” the Harambee Stars forward added.
Rupia was coy over the goals target he has set for himself but wants to get between 10-15 goals.
“I have a target but I do not want to talk about it right now. But anything between ten to fifteen goals will be okay for me,” he concluded.
Rupia will once again be tasked with leading AFC Leopards against Sofapaka FC on Saturday.
