Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has noted improvement in his side following Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Gor Mahia in a Betking Premier League match played at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.
Goals from David Majak and Henry Meja helped the Brewers pick maximum points against the reigning league champions. It was also a second win in a row for Matano’s charges after last weekend’s 5-2 drubbing of Western Stima in Kisumu.
Tusker lost their opening match of the season to AFC Leopards before registering a draw against Bandari and speaking after the win over K’Ogalo, the veteran tactician said his side is improving.
“We trained well for the game and so our preparations were good. I think we played well, generally, we are improving with each passing game,” he stated.
Matano however knows that there is still a lot of work to be done.
“The league is a marathon. We’ve beaten Gor Mahia but that does not make us champions. The game against Gor is done and dusted and so we now have to move forward and prepare for our next assignment. It is good that we have won but we should not be over-excited,” he concluded.
Next for Tusker is a home match against Vihiga United.
