Sofapaka were too good for Wazito after winning this Betking Premier League (BPL) match 2-0 at Wundanyi Stadium on Sunday.
Goals by Nixon Omondi and Lawrence Juma in the second half were enough to grant the home team all three points.
Wazito should have gone ahead early on in the third minute but Kevin Kimani failed to slot home the ball from a penalty kick as his shot was easily dealt with by Aiga Abdoul in the Sofapaka goal.
There was plenty of action from both sides but did not yield any goals and the more aggressive Sofapaka had Ambrose Sifuna cautioned at the half way mark.
Determined to have an advantage in the match, Sofapaka coach Ken Odhiambo brought in Timothy Otieno in the place of Pistone Mutamba. The new comer watched in disbelief as his header went off target despite beating Levis Opiyo in goal.
The opening goal finally came in the 72nd minute with Nixon Omondi’s header counting.
With time running out, Wazito were determined to get something in the match and pushed all their dangerous men upfront. They however forgot to cover the backline allowing Lawrence Juma to score a second goal for the winners in stoppage time and ensure his side picks all three points.
