Wadri settles Sharks-Bandari Utalii showdown

A William Wadri goal in first-half stoppage time was all that was needed for Bandari FC to secure all three points against Kariobangi Sharks in a BetKing Premier League (BPL) round 11 fixture played at the Utalii grounds on Saturday 6 February.

The Ugandan forward, returning back to the line-up after serving a two-game suspension, provided the decisive moment in an otherwise locked encounter by creating space for himself and shooting past Brian Bwire from outside the area.

1-0’s

All but one of the two teams’ 10 encounters in the league since Sharks’ promotion in the 2017 season have ended in similar 1-0 wins with the exception being a 3-0 Bandari win in Mombasa in 2018.

Today’s goal was also Wadri’s third against Sharks making him the top scorer in this fixture.

The win has the Coastal outfit move to within two points of Sharks as they now sit in 6th place with 16 points.

KCB win

In another game also played earlier at the Utalii grounds, KCB FC saw off Vihiga United by a solitary goal scored with eight minutes remaining by Samuel Mwangi.

The win ensured The Bankers remained within touching distance of leaders Tusker as they moved to 25 points.
