Vihiga frustrate City Stars for a share of the spoils

It was a point each for both Nairobi City Stars and Vihiga United after the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in a BetKing Premier League (BPL) matchday 5 encounter played at the Utalii grounds on Wednesday 23 December.

After being on the backfoot for much of the opening stanza, it was the visitors who drew first blood through David Simiyu who headed home from close range in the 42nd minute to send Vihiga into the break with the advantage.

An unfortunate way to end the opening exchanges of the half for the hosts, but they did regroup in the second period, getting back level just three minutes after the restart thanks to midfielder Sven Yidah’s first goal for the club.
