Sofapaka and Ulinzi Stars fought to a barren draw in Friday’s Betking Premier League (BPL) match at Utalii grounds.
Coming into the match, the soldiers were favorites to pick all three points going by their past performance while their performance would have been lucky to get something from it.
Lawrence Juma’s miss in the seventh minute was the highlight of Sofapaka’s attempts. The former Gor Mahia man was picked out by Nixon Omondi but instead of converting, he was punished for a push on John Kago.
Juma has been having a great time in the Sofapaka side and is currently the team’s leading goal scorer. He kept the Ulinzi defenders busy all through and his effort after the first miss went just wide.
While majority of the teams have been playing, the soldiers have had two weeks of rest and this looked to have affected their match fitness.
Their best chance was late in the second half when Masita Masuta attempted to go for goal but was ably blocked by Kelvin Omondi and both teams will be glad to share a point.
