Both Kariobangi Sharks and Tusker will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways when they clash in Sunday’s Betking Premier League (BPL) match at Utalii grounds.
Sharks are particularly desperate for a win after losing three matches in a row while Tusker know they cannot afford any other loss after going down to Posta Rangers in midweek in a result that jolted their title ambitions.
The eleven-time champions will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing their opponents who they have beaten four times and lost once in the last five meetings between them.
Despite starting the season well, Sharks themselves are in a mini crisis and their results have started mirroring those of yester years. They have lost three in a row and will face a wounded Tusker who are yet to lose two in a row.
They have a tough run of fixtures but will need to stem their rot with an assured performance against their rivals. Kapaito will hope to end his goal drought against the team he scored a brace in the reverse fixture.
Tusker were once gain leap frogged by KCB and with other teams catching up, they will look to follow up their disappointing performance with an excellent one.
It is a match that has yielded 23 goals in the last five meetings and the last one had six goals with only three goal scorers.
Failure to pick maximum points will open up the possibility of Gor Mahia leap frogging them and it will be interesting to see how both teams bounce back after disappointing mid-week results.
