Leaders Tusker have an opportunity to extend their stay at the top of the log when they take on Wazito in Friday’s Betking Premier League (BPL) match at Utalii grounds.
Tusker were held to a barren draw by KCB last weekend while their opponents suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Sofapaka.
Coming into this match, Wazito will be worried about their form against the brewers.
Wazito have never won against Tusker in the last five games, a sharp contrast to the five prior where they had won all the matches.
Furthermore, they have only scored thrice in the five matches before this showdown and the fact they have scored the least goals (14) of the teams in the top ten should be a concern that should be remedied soon.
Tusker on the other hand have won twice, drawn twice and lost twice in the last five games where they had previously won six in a row before then.
They are still at the top although they are facing stiff competition from the chasing pack and could lose further ground if they fail to pick maximum points tomorrow.
Players to watch
Wazito’s Antony Kimani will be a man to watch having scored six goals in the league so far and is good at pulling the strings in his teams’ midfield.
Kimani will also be instrumental in helping his side in the attacking front as they look to change their woeful run against Tusker where they have only scored twice in five games between them.
Youngster Henry Meja is Tusker’s top scorer with eight goals and although he has undergone a four game run without scoring, he is still someone who the Wazito defense will have to be keen on.
Jackson Macharia who has six goals might also be the difference between the side bearing in mind he scored the only goal of the previous match between the two.
