David Majak has confirmed that he is set to join Swedish top tier side Kalmar FF on a six-month loan deal until the end of the year.
The Tusker FC striker is expected to link up with his new team at the start of next month and if everything goes as expected then the Allsvenskan side have the option of making the deal a permanent one.
“I am happy to make this important step in my career and I want to thank Tusker for the opportunity and allowing me to take this move,” the South Sudanese international said, “I am ready for the challenge ahead and I will keep working hard just as I have done here.”
The towering forward joined Tusker in 2018 after impressing for Kapenguria Heroes in that year’s inaugural Chapa Dimba tournament where he was named the tourney’s MVP after guiding his team to the title.
He currently has four goals for The Brewers in this year’s BetKing Premier League (BPL) campaign. He has however been in and out of Robert Matano’s side due to injuries that have orchestrated a dip in form.
Former BPL stars
The Scandinavian nation is home to several former BPL stars with Eric Ouma (AIK) Joseph Okumu (IF Elfsborg) and Eric Johanna (Jönköpings Södra IF) all plying their trades for teams in Sweden’s top two divisions.
Kalmar FF have had a superb start to the new 2021 season where they currently lie in 4th place after three matches.
Located in the Southeast of Sweden, Kalamar are coached by former player Nanne Bergstrand, who is regarded as the club’s most successful tactician having guided the team to their first and only topflight title back in 2008.
