Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Wazito have released four players ahead of the new season.
Those released include immediate former captain Bernard Ochieng and midfielder Whyvonne Isuza .
Apart from the duo, goalkeeper Levis Opiyo and left back Dennis Ng’ang’a have also been released from the Francis Kimanzi coached side.
On Thursday morning, the club confirmed the exit of the four players who were reported to be leaving after mutual agreement had been reached between both parties.
“We can confirm that the following players have left the club upon the expiry of their contracts/on mutual consent.
” Bernard Ochieng, Levis Opiyo, Dennis Ng’ang’a, Whyvone Isuza. We would like to thank them for their service to the club and wish them well for the future,” the club confirmed in a statement posted on their official portal.
Despite having once formed an integral part of the Wazito squad, the relationship between the four players and the technical bench was said to be deteroriating, leaving the club to show them the exit door.
Wazito finished the 2020/2021 season in 9th place with 45 points – their highest ever finish to the season since being promoted to the top tier league.
