AFC Leopards Peter Thiong’o was delighted after making his Ingwe debut on Saturday in the 3-0 win over Sofapaka at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.
Thiong’o, who joined Leopards from Kakamega Homeboyz last month capped off his debut with two assists in the thrashing of helpless Batoto Ba Mungu.
Speaking after the match, the winger spoke of his joy at making his Ingwe bow.
“This is a great moment for me. Leopards was my dream team locally and today is a big day for me because I finally played in Ingwe colors,” he stated.
Thiong’o went on to heap praise on his teammates for the good show against Sofapaka that propelled them to top in the FKF Premier League table.
“The first half was a little challenging because Sofapaka really pushed us. In the second half, we changed our strategy and it worked very well. The team has quality players and the win shows just how good we can be, things can only get better,” he added.
The Harambee Stars midfielder has set a target for himself. He says he wants to bag ten goals and get more assists.
“I want to score ten goals this season, I think it’s a target I can meet. As for assists, I want to get as many as I can, I am an offensive player and my main role is to create chances,” he concluded.
