It has been a Betking Premier League (BPL) season for Sofapaka to forget and will be hoping the nightmare ends soon.
Touted as one of the title contenders at the start of the season, the 2009 league champions had some impressive signings and the title was theirs to lose.
However, months down the line, the team is nowhere near the top and are struggling even to finish among the top ten. As they face Vihiga United on Sunday, they will be looking for points to help in their hope for a respective finish. How the mighty have fallen!
Sofapaka have won one, lost one and drawn three times in the five meetings between the two sides.
They remain in the bottom half of the table but have performed better in recent games, accumulating eight points in the last five games.
They have the third leakiest defense but face a side which has attacking problems of their own.
Vihiga United have the worst attack in the league, scoring only nine goals which is less than what three golden boot contenders have individually.
The reverse fixture ended in a draw and they will hope for a similar result having lost four of their last five games.
Mathare United are also catching up with them and failure to pick points will make their prospects of remaining in the league harder than they already are.
