Sofapaka thrashed Wazito 3-0 in an entertaining FKF-PL match at Thika Municipal Stadium on Saturday.

Goals either half from Lawrence Juma, Joe Waithera, and Ambrose Sifuna were enough as Sofapaka completed a double over Wazito. 

Wazito FC kicked off the match on a pressing note and almost came close to net the opener. Musa Masika had a decent run down the left flank beat Okal Roy but his final shot hit Stephen Okola for safety. 

Ten minutes into the match  Wazito yet again had a dangerous attempt on goal, Musa Masika lopped in a beautiful delivery to Vincent Oburu, the speedy midfielder dashed into Sofapaka’s defense but his effort went over the bar. 

Two minutes later Sofapaka had their first real attempt on goal miss the target by inches. Sebastian Sunday set through Achesa Titus, the defender curled in his shot but missed the target with keeper Fredrick Odhiambo beaten.

Ten minutes later Sofapaka came close again, Lawrence Juma with a neat pass set through to Ambrose Sifuna, the youngster made a good run into Wazito’s penalty area but his final attempt lacked power for an easier pick for Odhiambo.

Three minutes before the half BatotoBaMungu had another glorious chance at goal wasted. An error from keeper Odhiambo found David Kingatua, but the midfielder’s chip was well-read by Odhiambo who punched it back to play. 

Six minutes before half time break, Wazito almost took the lead, Kevin Kimani and Musa Masika linked up well on the right flank of the pitch, Masika then delivered a hard one on goal, his delivery was met by Michael Owino who flicked it on goal but a well placed Omondi reacted on time to fingertip it over the bar. 

On resumption, Sofapaka returned the more attacking side and their efforts bore fruit. Lawrence Juma curled in a beautiful shot from the edge of the penalty area to give Sofapaka the lead.  

At the hour mark, Wazito almost leveled scores, former sofapaka midfielder Elli Asieche hit a good shit on goal but misses the target with Omondi well beaten
Five minutes later, Sofapaka doubled their lead through Joe Waithera.

The former Wazito man dashed past Omurwa Joshtone before looping the ball past Odhiambo Fredrick. 

With a quarter to play, Wazito had a push-up front to pull a goal back in the game, Amos Asembeka laid Kevin Kimani through on goal, the midfielder hit a good one on his first touch but Omondi was well placed to collect his attempt.

Against the run of play, Sofapaka added the third one through Ambrose Sifuna. The midfielder hit a fierce shot that hit the woodwork before hitting on rushing Omurwa Joshtone to find the back of the net. The win sees Sofapaka gain important points and move within reach of a top-half finish on the log.
