Sofapaka coach Ken Odhiambo has blamed lack of concentration for his team’s 2-1 loss to Gor Mahia on Thursday during a Betking Premier League (BPL) match.
Odhiambo said: “We had a good game against Gor Mahia. They started brightly and by the halftime break, they were leading. In the second half, our general game plan worked well. We pressed them from the word go and it paid off as we got the early equalizer through Achesa.”
“In the end we lost the duel due to our undoing. We lost concentration at a very crucial time in the game and that’s how we got punished by our opponents. We had contained them well in the second half, where we were literally on top of the game, I believe we should have won the tie had we utilized our chances.”
On sofapaka’s next fixture
“We are going to regroup and prepare for our next fixture against City Stars on Monday. We have to bounce back to winning ways.”
Sofapaka will begin the second leg on Monday with an away fixture against Nairobi City Stars.
