After close to three months out of action with a knee injury, Nairobi City Stars forward Ebrima Sanneh has completed his recovery and rehabilitation and is available for selection, the club reports.
Sanneh, who is on his second City Stars stint, picked the injury in preseason engagements and has been out since. As the team prepares for Match Day 9, the Gambian forward can afford to cross fingers for selection when the team heads to Wundanyi to face Sofapaka.
His return is definitely a boost for head coach Sanjin Alagic, who recently faulted the team for missed chances and hopes are that the striker can hit the ground running. The coach will however be patient with the forward and promises caution in how he uses him.
“I’m very pleased with the Sanneh return to team, he will give us additional power in front, as he has good killer instinct in front of goal. Last year he scored some crucial goals for us so we definitely missed him in this opening part of season,”
“He will need some time to come back fully to meet the demands of playing in KPL but we will be patient because I’m sure he will be a big boost to the team when he returns to his right shape,” the coach says.
Sanneh is serving his second stint at City Stars. He has previously played for the defunct Ushuru FC and Kariobangi Sharks. In 2015, his first season at City Stars, he scored 11 goals and went on to be recognized as the league’s runners up New Player of the Year.
