Gor Mahia captain Haroun Shakava is excited about the return of the top tier league after the players undertook the Covid-19 test on Tuesday morning in anticipation of the kick-off.
The league champions were the first to be tested at Camp Toyoyo grounds. Players from seven other clubs were also tested.
Speaking after undergoing the test, Shakava said everyone was looking forward to a return of action and this could not have come at a better time.
“It is an exciting moment for all the players. We have been out of competition for a long time and everyone is itching to come-back,” he said.
While admitting that a fixture congestion awaits all teams, Shakava maintained that they will cope after a few games.
“The first few matches will be very important for the players and coaches as it will allow us to adjust as the league progresses.”
Apart from Gor Mahia, players from Bidco United, Mathare, Gor Mahia, KCB, Kariobangi Sharks, Posta Rangers and Kakamega Homeboyz were also tested.
