Newly appointed Mathare United head coach Frank Ouna has expressed confidence in terms of the team’s chances of beating the drop in the 2020/2021 BetKing Kenya Premier League.
Currently, the slum boys are languishing at the root of the table as the club has only managed to collect seven points from the 14 games the club has played.
In an interview on the club’s website, Ouna, who takes over from Salim Ali, expressed optimism at the task at hand.
“I understand the task at hand and the only way to set things straight is to put points on the board. That is why I have been given the job. I know we can do it and improve on our situation because everything is already there in place. The players at my disposal are more than capable of turning things around and there is still so much to play for,” he said.
The former Harambee Stars assistant coach gets in the action immediately only one day after taking over at the club. He leads his Mathare United side as they lock horns with one of his former sides in KCB FC who are currently placed fourth in the table.
The match that takes place today at Ruaraka Grounds kicks off at 3PM.
