Nzoia dispatch star-studded Sofapaka for first win

Nzoia Sugar FC recorded their first win of the season on Saturday 16th during round 8 of the BetKing Premier League with Sofapaka FC on the end of Nzoia’s victory at the Sudi Grounds.

Goals from Leonard Kasembeli and youngster Eric Otieno ensured Lawrence Juma’s second half goal a mere consolation for the visiting Batoto Ba Mungu.

The sugar millers came out guns blazing and had Kasembeli strike on 13th minutes off kick-off. ten minutes later, Otieno got his second of the season for Nzoia’s 2-0 lead. They would hold onto this at the break.

Collins Wakhungu found his return to the Sudi Stadium a little slippery

It took the efforts of Lawrence Juma to inspire some hope for the visitors when he pulled one back at the hour mark. However, Nzoia had not tasted a win this season and now they smelled it.

The final whistle came with Juma himself already sent off in the clash. Blues for for Sofapaka as as Nzoia Sugar pulled in a decent shift on the day for a 2-1 win
