Kakamega Homeboyz tactician Nicholas Muyoti has been named the FKFPL Coach of the Month for July, joining Homeboyz midfielder Shami Kibwana who was named Player of the Month earlier on Wednesday.
Muyoti led Homeboyz to an impeccable record in July where they picked up 15 points from a possible 18, winning five of the six matches they played in the month.
Homeboyz started the month with a 3-1 win over Ulini Stars and followed that up with 4-2 and 2-1 wins over Mathare United and Nzoia Sugar respectively.
They would however hit a snag as they lost 1-0 to Wazito but quickly regrouped to beat Sofapaka 2-1 before closing out the month with an emphatic 4-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks.
All in all, Muyoti’s charges managed 15 goals in the month and conceded seven.
It is the third time in the just concluded 20/21 campaign that the monthly awards have gone to a coach and player of the same team in the same month. Bandari duo of Coach Andre Mbungo and striker William Wadri bagged February’s gong with Stanley Okumbi and Kevin Opiyo of Posta Rangers doing the same in the month of March.
Homeboyz winger David Odhiambo bagged the Player of the Month for May.
