Mukisa denies Mathare win in Juma Abdalla’s first game in charge

Junior Mukisa headed home in the final minute of stoppage time at the Kasarani Stadium to help secure a 1-1 draw for Western Stima against Mathare United in a BetKing Premier League (BPL) catch-up encounter played on Thursday 4 April.

The defender lifted the Kisumu based side from the jaws of defeat after Mathare looked destined for the win thanks to a Daniel Otieno header with five minutes remaining of the 90.

Both teams currently find themselves locked in the relegation zone and a win for either team could have provided a big boost towards lifting them closer to safety.

Coaching change

The difficult start to the season has already forced Stima into a coaching change with veteran tactician Abdalla Juma overseeing his first match in charge on Thursday.
