Mathare United coach Frank Ouna will be looking for his first win when they take on KCB in Saturday’s Betking Premier League (BPL) match at Ruaraka grounds.
In three matches since being appointed, Ouna has not won a single match and the team remains stuck at the bottom of the log.
This will be a match-up between two sides at the extreme ends of the standings, both in positions they perhaps thought they would not be occupying by this point. In the last five meetings between them, KCB have won two, drawn two and lost one.
KCB have performed beyond expectations and lead the standings as they seek to win a maiden league title. They are still in the hunt for the CAF champions league position and a win against their opponents will strengthen their chances with three games to go before the 30th June deadline.
Mathare United have been poor all season and face another difficult side after facing the defending champions in their last game.
Their coach is the only one not to get a win (although he has only been in charge for five games) but their performances on the pitch have been improving. A win would raise their spirits as they hope to avoid relegation while a loss will only postpone the inevitable.
