Mathare United will be away in Mombasa in round 32 of the FKFPL with Bandari FC providing the opposition on Saturday at the Mbaraki Sports Club.
Having three matches on their plate before the season concludes, Saturday’s game will be the most crucial for the Slumboys who despite their recent upturn in form, still find themselves deep in the relegation battle.
Frank Ouna’s men have won their last three matches, the first time this season this has happened for them and in the process have turned the relegation dogfight upside down and placed their fate in their hands.
With one game and two in hand on Western Stima and Vihiga United respectively, Mathare have the upper hand and need five points from their three matches to be assured of their stay in the topflight.
That hunt starts on Saturday and with Vihiga shocking many with their win over KCB on Friday that all but ended the Bankers’ title hopes, Mathare know that one small blip and their survival hopes will now have to depend on other results.
