Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano says his side is preparing well ahead of Saturday’s Betking Premier League match against Bandari FC at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.
The Brewers lost their opening match to AFC Leopards last Saturday and they have a chance to bounce back against Bandari who defeated Sofapaka in their opener at Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday.
Ahead of the match, Matano said that training is going on well and that his boys have responded well from last Saturday’s setback. He added that they are working to rectify the mistakes they made against Ingwe.
“Everything is going on well, we now have the time to train and work together as a team. The response in training has been good, everyone is working very hard in training and I believe we will see a response on Saturday. We are working on the mistakes we made against Leopards,” he said.
Matano further admitted that he does not anticipate an easy assignment against the Dockers but has full confidence in his playing unit.
“We are fully focused on the assignment ahead. We know that it will not be an easy match and we have to up our game. But I have full confidence in my players and I believe that come Saturday we will be ready,” he stated.
The veteran further added that his team did not play as a team against AFC Leopards as they had barely trained together.
“We did not play as a team. We had not trained together for a very long time, we were training in small groups due to the COVID-19 situation and it was visible when we played against AFC Leopards in Kasarani. Ingwe had been training together for long and that’ why they played as a team and we did not because we were only together for three days,” he concluded.
The Tusker vs Bandari match will kick off at 3pm and will be live on StarTimes.
