Wazito FC head coach Francis Kimanzi has hailed his team’s character and performance in the 2-1 win over Bidco United on Saturday afternoon at Utalii Grounds.
United was the better side in the first stanza and went ahead through Eric Gichimu. Wazito leveled matters shortly after the restart through Dennis Sikhayi before substitute Vincent Oburu sealed the comeback with a stoppage-time goal. The win was Wazito’s third in a row.
Speaking after the match, Kimanzi hailed his team’s character and ability to respond positively after conceding in the first half.
“It was a very good game, I loved the character of the team. Conceding an early goal means you have to change your initial game plan, they followed the ideas behind the difficulties we had and tried to implement the possibilities and that is a very good character,” he said.
The experienced tactician also revealed that they had to change tact in the second half after watching how the BPL newbies approached the game in the first stanza.
“ We analyzed their situation at halftime, they had no chance in midfield because it was very compact but they had chances wide and that’s what we had to address and I am happy with how we played in the second half, “ he stated.
Next for fourth-placed Wazito is a home match against Nzoia Sugar scheduled for Friday afternoon at the MISC Kasarani Annex.
