BANKERS SEEK FOR REVENGE AGAINST SHARKS

An enthralling BetKing Premier League encounter awaits on Sunday afternoon when second placed KCB take on third placed Kariobangi Sharks at Thika Stadium.

For a side that had once gone on a five game losing streak and slipped down the league standings, Sharks have done well to get themselves back into contention with a similar five game unbeaten streak that has seen the William Muluya coached side slowly but surely get themselves into third position ahead of AFC Leopards and defending champions Gor Mahia who are fourth and fifth respectively.

It is the form that Sharks find themselves in currently that poses a threat to a KCB side that still is hopeful of lifting a maiden league title in the top tier.

Sitting only four points behind log leading Tusker, who have 55 points, the Bankers would not want to pass up the chance of going just one point behind the twelve time Kenyan champions with a game in hand.

But in order for KCB to do that, they will first have to deal with a free scoring Eric Kapaito who is on a six match scoring streak. Not only are they effective in attack, Sharks are also mean in defence as they have only let in one goal in their last three games.

For KCB to triumph and edge even close to beating Tusker to the title, Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno will need his defensive line to be on the watch out and for striker Derrick Otanga to continue with his resurgent splendid form in the second half campaign.

In the first leg, Sharks emphatically thrashed KCB three goals to nil and that will certainly be something that will be lingering on the minds of the Bankers’ entire unit – revenge.

Whether they will be able to plot it and pull it off will be discovered after the referee’s full time whistle.
