KCB OUT TO SALVAGE TITLE AMBITIONS

Second placed KCB have a chance to redeem their title credentials when they take on AFC Leopards in Wednesday’s Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at Thika Stadium.

The banker’s come into this game knowing anything other than a win will almost guarantee that their search of a maiden title will extend beyond this season.

They trail current leaders Tusker by three points and they will hope their rivals falter if they are to have a chance to take the race to the final game of the season.

The reverse fixture saw Leopards come from behind courtesy of an Elvis Rupia brace in a match that saw KCB’s five game winning start to the season brought to a halt.

The absence of their opponents coach might give them optimism of beating their opponents but the uncertainty of another coach being in charge means it will be an interesting match between both.

AFC Leopards will not have their coach Patrick Aussems for the next two matches to end the season. He left the country over the weekend and he is poised to return for next season’s pre-season as they chase an elusive thirteenth title.

Assistant coach Tom Juma will be in charge of the next match starting with this monumental game and will surely hope for a strong finish to the season although they have nothing significant to fight for.

Despite that, a chance to finish in the top three is on the table and they also come off the back of two consecutive wins which has lifted their spirits in what started as a hopeful season ends as a disappointing campaign.
