Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) forward Derrick Otanga remains upbeat ahead of Saturday’s Betking Premier League (BPL) match against Sofapaka.
The bankers will be going all out for a win as they seek to remain at the top of the league standings as they meet a side that has struggled to be consistent.
But Otanga warns they cannot underrate their opponents who have lost the last two matches in a row and insists that Sofapaka still have something to offer.
“We have a good team and currently, we are in good form. We are on a mission and we have a target to achieve thus we have to continue with the fine run because it’s not a done job yet.”
” The match against Sofapaka looks easy on paper being that they are out of form but we respect them because they are a good side despite their current poor run. Nonetheless, we will take advantage of their current troubles and go for the win,” he said.
On any pressure being at the helm of the log;
“There has to be pressure because there is no going down now but for us, we are focusing on a game at a time and not in the position we are in.”
On finally finding his scoring touch is back.
“A striker’s job is to score goals and when you don’t your confidence drops too. The last two games have been good for me being on the scoresheet and more importantly scoring match-winning goals. I feel my confidence level is getting back and am only hoping to keep scoring in each game.”
