AFC Leopards captain Robinson Kamura has downplayed his side’s chances of clinching the Betking Premier League title this season saying it’s too early to call.

Ingwe started the new season with a 2-1 win over a bogey Tusker FC side on Saturday. Kamura staged the comeback with the equalizing goal after David Majak had opened the scoring for the Brewers. Elvis Rupia then hit the winner for Leopards minutes to halftime.

Speaking after the match, Kamura said his side will employ a match-at-a-time approach.

“It is too early to say we are going to win the title. Right now we are taking a game at a time. The target is to end our drought in the league but we will have to work really hard if we are to achieve that dream,” he told BPL news.

The former Mathare United defender further added that it will be a dream come true if Leopards win the title this season.

“It will be a dream come true. The team last won the league title over 20 years ago and if we manage to end that dry spell this season then it will be massive not only for us but most importantly for our loyal supporters,” he added.

Up next for Leopards is a match against Bidco United.
