Zoo FC head coach Herman Iswekha has blamed defensive fragilities for his side’s 3-0 defeat to Gor Mahia in a Betking Premier League match played on Wednesday at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.
The reigning league champions condemned the Kericho based side to a heavy defeat with a 3-star show. Samuel Onyango, Kenneth Muguna scored the two opening goals in the first half before substitute Sydney Ochieng sealed the win with a stunning goal deep into stoppage time.
It was a good response for K’Ogalo who suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to Vihiga United on Saturday afternoon. For Zoo, it condemned them to a third defeat in a row, and the team is now firmly rooted at the bottom of the BPL table with just two points from five rounds of league matches.
In his post-match interview, a dejected Iswekha lamented that his defenders were making the same mistakes match after match.
“We made the same mistakes again today. It was the same case against Mathare United and Tusker FC. When you look at our midfield, we are doing well we just have a problem in defense, we are letting in very easy goals. My strikers too need to do better, we need to make good use of the opportunities we create,” the tactician added.
Zoo will next take on Nzoia Sugar FC at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma County on Sunday afternoon.
