Defending champions Gor Mahia will be hoping to kickstart their new spell under new British head coach Mark Harrison on some positive front when they take on Kakamega Homeboyz in a BetKing Premier League match on Wednesday afternoon.
Since June 23, Gor have gone on an astonishing seven match winless run in all the league games they have played, results that have seen them slip further and further away from the coveted places.
After being docked three points for failing to attend the Mashemeji Derby over the weekend, Gor currently find themselves in an unfamiliar eleventh position with the new tactician set to take his first match after being officially unveiled on Monday evening.
Despite beating Homeboyz in the first leg, Harrison will find it difficult to replicate the same feat as the current Nicholas Muyoti led side does not have trouble banging in goals.
Straight from scoring 12 goals in their last five games, Muyoti’s men will come into the match confident of avenging their first leg 1-2 loss at the hands of the record Kenyan champions.
For Gor, it will be huge relief to add back numbers to their already depleted squad as budding youngster Frank Odhiambo is set to reunite with the squad after being engaged with the national U23 team in the regional CECAFA tourney. Midfield revelation Alpha Onyango is also expected to play after getting sixty minutes under his belt in his first match after his back injury.
For Homeboyz, May player of the monthr David Odhiambo is also expected to join the team after the national duty.
Will the Briton get off to the perfect start at Gor?
