Zoo FC head coach Herman Iswekha says his team will have to build on Saturday’s win over Vihiga United as they look to get out of the relegation zone.
The Kericho-based side got its first Betking Premier League win of the season on Saturday afternoon after beating Vihiga United 1-0 at the Kericho Green Stadium.
Herman was elated by the win and he says it marks the beginning of good tides for his side.
“We are a little relieved because we finally got that important first win of the season. It was hard-fought but I am glad that we managed to get three points and we will build on it going forward,” he said.
Reflecting on the rough patch, Herman admitted that it was taking a toll on his charges.
“It was a difficult run and mentally it was affecting my players because we were playing well but the results were just not coming. We were getting punished for defensive mistakes or failing to take our chances. We now have to work harder, only hard work will lift us from our current position, ” he added.
Zoo sits at the bottom of the Betking Premier League table with six points after 12 rounds of league matches.
They will have a chance to get three points when they play Western Stima in their backyard on Wednesday afternoon in a rescheduled league match.
