After two weeks of top action in the BetKing Premier League (BPL), things are set to get even sweeter, with Gor Mahia and Ulinzi Stars, who have been inactive in the earlier rounds set to join the fray. The two giants, with 23 league titles between them, will be the weekend’s highlight as they face off on Sunday.
The match, which will be staged at the Utalii Sports Club, is scheduled to kick off at 1.30pm
While Gor Mahia have been taking part in the CAF Champions League at the preliminary stage, Ulinzi Stars were locked in training in preparation for action and the moment is here. Gor Mahia advanced to the first round of the continental competition after eliminating Rwanda’s APR.
The match will be aired live on a free to air channel to be confirmed in due course.
Meanwhile, the third round of matches starts on Friday 11th December with Nairobi City Stars hosting Bandari FC at 3pm, which will be the first live game of the week. On Saturday Tusker FC will tour Kisumu to take on Western Stima as Bidco United seek their first win of the campaign in an away game against Kariobangi Sharks at the Utalii Grounds on the same day.
Four matches are lined up for Sunday; KCB FC will host Kakamega Homeboyz at Kasarani, in the other live match of the weekend while Vihiga United will be at Mumias Complex to take on Nzoia Sugar in a western Kenya derby. AFC Leopards, who have won both their opening games will host Sofapaka at Nyayo Stadium while Posta Rangers, seeking a first win of the season, takes on Wazito FC at Utalii Grounds.
