Visiting Gor Mahia beat Sofapaka 2-1 in a rescheduled Betking Premier League fixture on Thursday in Wundanyi.

The game began on a high  note with both teams pressing for an early lead. Igt was  Sofapaka who came close in the 12th minute through Timothy Otieno.

The former Tusker forward beat  Haroun Shakava off the ball but his attempt lacked enough power to go past Gad Mathews in goal. 

Gor Mahia took the lead in the 27th minute through Titus Okelo. The South Sudanese  forward rose high to head in Kenneth Muguna’s delivery. 

Sofapaka came back stronger and six minutes into the second half, they leveled the scores through Titus Achesa who shot hard past Gad Mathews on goal.

Substitute Alpha Onyango struck the winning goal for Gor Mahia  in the 80th minute heading in Tito Okelo’s delivery. 

Up next Gor Mahia will take on Vihiga United while Sofapaka will be away to Nairobi City Stars
