Gor Mahia will have to do without striker Tito Okello for atleast two weeks.
The South Sudan international travelled to his country last week to link up with the national team that will take part in the Fifa Arab Cup 2021.
Coach Manuel Val Pinto said he does not expect the player back until after June 21 even as he revealed that Jules Ulimwengus is not back to complete fitness.
“Tito is playing on June 21 and we don’t have him until after that date. Ulimwengu is not completely fit after coming back home. He got sick when he went for international duty and stayed for two months.
“He still needs time to recover and that is why he cannot play for 90 minutes,” he said.
Gor Mahia face Mathare United on Wednesday as the Betking Premier League (BPL) resumes after a two week break and Pinto says he will rotate his squad to give other players a chance to rest.
“It has been very difficult to play all this matches and fatigue is taking its toll. We will be forced to rotate our squad against Mathare United. The last two games we have used the same players but now it is time to make some changes,” he said.
Gor Mahia have qualified for the finals of the Betway Cup after edging out Bidco United 5-2 on penalties and will play in the final against AFC Leopards on July 4.
