Gor Mahia have a chance to quickly bounce back to winning ways when they host Western Stima in Saturday’s Betking Premier League match at Thika Stadium.
The league champions were held to a barren draw at the same venue last Tuesday by Wazito.
Gor Mahia have not lost in their last five encounters against their opponents, winning twice and drawing the rest.
Apart from being held to a barren draw by Wazito, Gor Mahia’s backline remain unbreached in the last five games.
They have significantly reduced the points gap with the top two teams and will hope to add onto the misery of their opponents whose last victory was six games ago in early March.
Western Stima played well in their game against Tusker and if they had taken their chances in the first half, it would have been a different story for them.
They are two points ahead of the bottom placed team and their poor defense will have to be on the lookout for the second-best attack.
They only have two victories and although they have had the misfortune of facing the two best sides in back-to-back games, there will be no time to feel sorry for themselves and will have to dust themselves off and start saving their season.
