Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ocholla has said they will do everything possible to keep star midfielder Keneth Muguna.
The official has also stated that they are working hard to keep all their key players despite going through financial difficulties that has seen some of them want to leave.
Muguna has received several offers to leave the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions and is likely to go as his contract is winding up.
Among the clubs that have expressed interest in the player include Tanzanian moneybags Azam.
“We are determined to keep Muguna and all our key players. We do not want to lose any of them despite the financial difficulties the club is going through. The club is talking to his agent to convince him to extend his stay at the club,” he said.
Ocholla said they are ready to give the player a counter-offer to match what his suitors will be offering.
“Despite the financial difficulties the club is undergoing, we are ready to offer him a counter-offer and ensure that he stays with us as we want to win the league.”
Gor Mahia are currently placed seventh on the log with 22 points though they have played just 14 matches. The team plays Wazito on Tuesday at Kasarani as the league resumes.
