Bandari FC head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo has been named Betking Premier League coach of the month at an award ceremony held at the Goan Institute on Friday morning.
The Rwandese tactician beat Bidco United’s Anthony Akhulia to the award. Both coaches won all their four matches in February.
The Dockers started the month with a narrow 1-0 win over Bandari at the Utalii Grounds before overcoming AFC Leopards 2-1 at their Mbaraki Sports Club backyard. Their next assignment was equally at Mbaraki where they whitewashed Vihiga United 5-0. They ended their month with a 2-0 triumph over Ulinzi Stars at the Kericho Green Stadium.
The Dockers scored ten goals in February and let in just one in what was arguably their best month in recent years. He walks home with Ksh. 50,000 and customized trophy courtesy of FKF Premier League.
He becomes the third recipient of the award this season after KCB’s Zedekiah Otieno who bagged the December award and Francis Kimanzi who was feted in January.
Mbugo’s feting completed a February double for Bandari. This is after William Wadri walked home with the player of the month after seeing off competition from Sofapaka’s Lawrence Juma.
