The two clubs had 30 players and 10 officials vaccinated in medical centres in their respective counties. Nzoia received the jab at the Bungoma County Referral Hospital with Vihiga getting theirs at the Vihiga County Hospital.

The exercise will continue on Thursday with Bandari FC and Western Stima taking to the Khader Boy Health Centre and Kisumu County Hospital respectively for their doses.

Fifteen

Fifteen topflight clubs have so far received the first dose of the jab which the Ministry of Sports began administering on Saturday with the Nairobi based clubs.

A date and venue is yet to be confirmed for Zoo FC to receive the dose. It is also yet to be confirmed on when the second dose will start getting administered, though it has widley been reported that a gap of about 12 weeks between doses, hightens the protective effect of the vaccine.

The vaccination process is one of the first steps that Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and the Ministry of Sports have set in order to hopefully allow for the resumption of club football in the country, that has been suspended for five weeks now due to the high rise of Covid-19 infections.
