An impressive Nairobi City Stars will be looking to make it five out of five wins when they travel to play a struggling Nzoia Sugar at Narok Stadium in Friday’s BetKing Premier League match.
Coming off the back of four wins on the spin, Simba wa Nairobi will be looking to pile even more misery on a Nzoia side that has failed to get a win in their last six games.
City Stars will be buoyed even further by the fact that they managed to beat the millers 2-0 in the first leg encounter courtesy of goals from captain Anthony ‘Muki’ Kimani and Oliver Maloba.
Sitting currently in sixth position, City Stars could very well jump upto fifth on the log with a win as Kariobangi Sharks, who have lost their last four games, continue displaying unwanted results and face a tough away fixture against Bandari.
After failing to steal a point in their last game against Vihiga despite being presented with a penalty in the 90+7th minute, the millers will be looking to atone for their costly mistakes by turning up for the match.
Although, they are currently four points clear of the relegation places, Ibrahim Shikanda’s men could soon find themselves sapped in the dangerous drop zone if they fail to arrest the six game winless run. The club are currently in 14th place on 17 points while Western Stima are in 16th position on 13 points.
Ironically, the venue that will host the clash – Narok Stadium – was where City Stars got the first leg 2-0 win in the season opening fixture between the two sides.
The venue is once again being used as Nzoia’s backyard at Sudi Stadium cannot be used due to an ongoing lockdown in some counties in the Western part of Kenya.
The match kicks off at 1500EAT.
