FKF Premier League newbies Vihiga Bullets played out a barren draw against visiting Bidco United at the Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday 25th, a tie contested from 3 pm- and in very soggy conditions.
Bullets, led out by former AFC Leopards midfielder John Wanda, also paraded a wealth of experience for their first ever premier league match with such names as Patrick Okullo and Lucas Weitere also on show. United on the other hand, gave Collins Neto his debut and he started upfront for the visitors.
Bukhungu presented a slippery surface form the tie with heavy rains experienced in Kakamega from 1 pm, the ball therefore slid across the grass much faster and as expected, the opening few minutes was an end to end action.
Neto was heavily restricted outside the Bullets area by the centenaries-back pairing of Sabulon Khaemba and Phillip Mwangale, and would not have a shot on target in the first half. On the other end of the field, keeper Edwin Mukolwe would be put to task on 30. minutes by Wanda- a long range effort that the keeper had to parry away for a corner kick.
The second half would see less clear chances and both teams- perhaps considering Saturday’s weather conditions, will be each satisfied with the points shared.
