FKF Premier League (FKFPL) giants AFC Leopards have announced the signing of sought after winger Harrison Mwendwa from Kariobangi Sharks.
The former Kenya U23 player moves to The Den after two years with Sharks, a side he joined in 2018 from Mathare United.
“AFC Leopards is delighted to announce the signing of Harrison Mwendwa from Kariobangi Sharks on a two-year contract,” Leopards announced in a statement, “The speedy and talented winger joins The Den and will make his debut during the pre-season tour of Western Kenya.”
On his part, the speedster termed his move a step-up in his career.
He said as quoted on the club’s official website, “I am thrilled to be joining AFC Leopards. This is a great step in my career and I’m looking forward to join the rest of the team and kick off this season’s campaign. I’m keen to get started and make my contribution to the team’s efforts to win more trophies.
“AFC Leopards is a great club with massive support and great management.”
Mwendwa has been on the radar of several clubs including that of Tanzanian giants Yanga FC who wanted to bring the player on board after he helped Sharks claim the 2019 Sportpesa Super Cup that was held in Dar Es Salaam.
He becomes Ingwe’s third off-season acquisition. Joining youngster Lewis Bandi who made the step-up from Leopards’ youth team and fullback Washington Munene who made his loan move from Wazito FC permanent.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan and defender Collins Shichenje have also pledged their futures to the club by both signing one year extensions to their current deals.
