Bidco United picked all three Betking Premier League (BPL) points after edging out visiting Vihiga United at Thika Stadium on Friday.
It was a deserved win for Bidco United who created the better chances and who were unlucky to draw in their last outing against Posta Rangers. They had failed to score in their last three games but the slim one goal advantage was enough to dispatch their visitors.
Vihiga United did not create enough chances and remain two points off the relegation zone.
Bidco went at their opponents from the first whistle and threatened first after a good cutback by David Kalama found David Orem but his shot was deflected off for the first corner of the game.
Stephen Waruru then put Orem through with a lovely through ball but he failed to control the ball and Mustapha Oduor had no problem collecting the ball. Most of the attacks were coming from the left-hand side channel where Alex Juma was constantly troubling Vihiga right back Johnson Muyesu.
The strong reargued action by the Vihiga defense meant the teams went level at the break in a half they rarely threatened.
The home side started the second half just like the first but were caught out and almost conceded eight minutes after the restart.
A foul on the edge of the box resulted in a freekick which was well taken by Lawrence Luvanda but Bidco keeper Edwin Muklwe was equal to it and palmed away the ball for a corner.
The home side’s attacking impetus finally bore fruit and they got a deserved lead after scoring an incredible freekick through marksman Waruru for his third goal of the season thereby condemning Vihiga to their eleventh loss of the season.
