Bidco United and Sofapaka played to a goalless draw in a Betking Premier League match staged at Thika Municipal Stadium on Sunday.

The match started on a high tempo with both teams in search of the opener. At the quarter-hour mark, Sofapaka had the real first attempt on goal, Brian Magonya low hard shot missed the target by a whisker with the keeper well beaten. 

Nine minutes later Bidco grew lively into the game, a beautiful delivery from the left wing by Peter Nzuki found David Gateri who was well-positioned but his header hit the post to roll out for a goal kick. 

At the half-hour mark of the game, Bidco came close yet again, Eric Gichimu set through David Orem but the forward’s poor final touch missed the target with the keeper to beat. 

Ten minutes before the halftime breather, BatotoBaMungu had a chance on goal, Timothy Otieno dribbled past  Simasi Anthony but his powerful shot on goal got paired off for safety by keeper Adisa Omar. 

With a minute to halftime, hosts Bidco yet again came close this time through Juma Alex, the winger dashed past Nixon Omondi, he deliverd a beautiful cross on goal but custodian Aigba Moubaraka reacted in time to collect Juma’s delivery. 

Sofapaka resumed most lively, coming close to draw the first blood through Timothy Otieno but Otieno’s effort hit the crossbar for a goal kick. 

On the hour mark, Bidco proved a threat, a beautiful exchange of passes between Eric Gichimu, David Gateri, and Peter Nzuki almost yield the opener of the game but Gichimu’s final touch went over the bar much to Sofapaka’s relief.

On the 80th minute, Bidco won a foul just outside the penalty box area after Gichimu was brought down by Otieno, defender Simasi Anthony stepped up to take the foul in search of the opener but shot at straight into Sofapaka’s wall. 

Five minutes to normal time, Bidco came close yet again through Okiro Steven, the second-half substitute beat Aigba on goal but his effort went wide with an empty score ending the game to a goalless draw.
