BIDCO FRY CITY STARS IN RUARAKA

Bidco United edged out Nairobi City Stars 2-1 in a Betting Premier League(BPL) match at Ruaraka grounds on Monday.

A goal in each by David Orem and David Gateri made all the difference for the winners.

The match started on a high tempo with both teams in search of an early lead. Hosts City Stars had the first real chance of the game with just ten minutes of play.

Okumu Kevin and Aziz Okaka combined well on the left flank, Okaka’s delivery was well shot by Davis Agesa but the striker’s effort had too much power resulting in a missed opportunity

At the quarter-hour mark, the visitors had their opportunity to take the lead from a freekick after Gichimu Eric was brought down by Okumu but Peter Nzuki’s effort caused no trouble to City Stars as the midfielder hit straight into the wall.

On the 26th minute, Bidco United took the lead through David Orem. The on-form forward taped in Eric Gichimu’s teasing low-cut delivery past Steve Njuge to give the visitors the lead.

Right at the half-hour mark Nicholas Kipkirui thought he had a perfect chance to draw the host level with a one on one moment with keeper Adisa Omar but his goal-bound effort was ruled for an offside by the match officials.

On the 40th minute, hosts City Stars were forced to make an early change. Nicholas Kipkirui had to be replaced by Ezekiel Odera after suffering a nasty injury from Lambert Oyuga challenge. The change brought some fire upfront but Bidco held firm to head in for the break a goal up.

City Stars returned the busiest with a push for an equalizer through Bolton Omwenga after Odera was fouled by Anthony Simasi. The defender curled in a perfect shot but his attempt went straight into Njuge’s hand.

Four minutes after the hour mark, Bidco doubled their lead through David Gateri. Eric Gichimu was at the center of the organization yet again, the midfielder picked out Gateri from a beautiful delivery and the midfielder made no mistakes curling the ball into the right top corner past Njuge to give the visitors a two-goal lead.

City Stars pilled pressure to pull a goal back and surge for a comeback into the game but Odera’s effort from a close range after having been set through by Omwenga lacked power for an easier pick by Omar Adisa .

Against the run of play, City Stars finally pulled a goal back in the match through Ezekiel Odera after Kevin Okumu had been brought down in the penalty area from a reckless challenge by Lambert Oyuga. The experienced forward stepped up and converted from the spot.

A late drama ensued in the match four minutes from added time, both teams had red cards apiece to Lambert Oyuga and Salim Abdallah after the two engaged in unsporting behavior. Nonetheless, Bidco remained steadfast to collect four points from the two fixtures.
