Struggling AFC Leopards will be looking to turn around their poor start to the 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season when they take on Ulinzi Stars in a Friday afternoon league encounter slated for Thika Stadium.
Heading into the clash, Ingwe will be keen to avoid another defeat after losing back to back matches in their last couple of games against fierce rivals Gor Mahia and away to coastal side Bandari.
Out of the nine points that have been up for grabs for the Patrick Aussems coached side, Ingwe has only managed to get one after a draw with KCB back in matchday two.
Ingwe’s task at hand in matchday five is made even more difficult considering the fact that their opponents are yet to taste defeat in the three games they have played so far, winning two and drawing one to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, a record they will want to keep.
While Leopards may appear to be currently wounded, a tie against Ulinzi has always favoured the team. In the last five head to head league meetings between the two teams, Ingwe has dominated the encounter as they have never lost, winning four matches and drawing one.
It is that kind of historical backing that the club will be hoping to once again be in line with in order to arrest their losing streak.
On the other hand, the Soldiers will be looking to end that dominance if they are to maintain their impressive start to the season. Who wants it more?
