AFC Leopards kicked off their 2020/21 BetKing Premier League (BPL) season with a 2-1 win over Tusker FC in a matchday 1 encounter played at the outdoor pitch at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday 28 November.
An entertaining opening stanza saw all three goals scored with strikes from Robinson Kamura and Elvis Rupia rendering David Majak’s opener a consolation for the brewers.
Majak broke the deadlock with a close range low finish in the 22nd minute but Tusker’s lead was short-lived when Ingwe captain Kamura prodded home from close range to take advantage of a goalmouth melee just two minutes later.
Rupia would make sure of the points for Leopards soon after with an expertly taken spotkick.
Leopards now join Bandari and Kakamega Homeboyz at the top of the BPL standings at three points each. Bandari and Homeboyz both claimed similar 1-0 wins over Sofapaka and Vihiga United also on Saturday.
