AFC Leopards elevates Gaza, extends Webo contract

Betking Premier League side, AFC Leopards has promoted its team manager and club legend Thomas ‘Gaza’ Juma to the position of an assistant coach.

Gaza, who has served as the team manager for the last two years will now occupy the slot vacated by immediate former assistant coach Anthony Kimani who ditched Ingwe for a reunion with Andre Cassa Mbungo at Bandari.

In a statement, Leopards also confirmed that goalkeepers’ trainer Lawrence Webo has had his contract extended for further one-and-a-half years.

“AFC Leopards is delighted to announce that our coaching staff duo of Tom Juma and Lawrence Webo have extended their stay at the Club,” read part of the statement posted on the club website.

The pair’s contracts have been backdated to January 31st, 2021, and will run to June 2022.

“Thomas Juma begins his role of assistant coach for one and a half years effective January 1st, 2021. The goalkeeper coach, Lawrence Webo see his contract extended as our goalkeeper trainer till 30th June, 2022,” concluded the statement.

Ingwe are currently 4th in the Betking Premier League table with 25 points after 12 rounds of league matches. On Saturday afternoon, they will take on  Nairobi City Stars at the Kasarani Annex.
