AFC Leopards came from two goals down to hold Sofapaka to a 2-2 tie in this Betking Premier League (BPL) match at Wundanyi Stadium on Wednesday.

It was a good come-back for Leopards who had lost their last league match against Bidco United. The result kept them in touch with the leaders.

Leopards have also qualified for the final of the Betway Cup and will play arch-rivals Gor Mahia in their bid for a double this season. The final match will be played on July 4.

Going into this match Sofapaka who are already out of contention for the title, needed something to inspire them. They took an early led in the first minute through Lawrence Juma who in the process also netted his tenth goal of the season.

Juma who was formerly at Gor Mahia has been a stand-out in a Sofapaka side that has struggled to win anything this season.

He scored a second for his side in the tenth minute and the match looked dead and buried.

But looking fatigued after playing many matches in the last few weeks, Leopards pressed hard and pulled one back in the 27th minute through Elvis Rupia who netted from the penalty spot.

Sofapaka will blame themselves for not taking their chances in subsequent attempts and were punished late in the game when Austin Odhiambo scored the equalizer for Leopards.
