AFC Leopards head coach Anthony Kimani has urged his forwards to be more clinical in front of goal in future after his side’s wasted so many chances before suffering a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Western Stima on Friday afternoon at the MISC Kasarani.
Ingwe had registered three wins in three matches heading into the Stima match. They were backed to down the Kisumu based side easily but things went south as two late goals from Junior Mukisa and Oromchan Villa condemned Ingwe to its first league defeat.
Kimani’s charges were by far the better side, created many goal-scoring chances especially in the first half but their wastefulness in front of goal was punished by a resilient Stima side in stoppage time.
In his post-match interview, the young tactician said wastefulness cost his side a precious win.
“We have to learn from the mistakes we made today. We created many chances but we were not good in the final third and in the end we lost the game. Our opponents defended very well and I give them credit for that,” he said.
“As the coach, I take responsibility for today’s defeat. We go back to the drawing board and plan again. We will address the mistakes that we made today and try to do better in our next match,” he added.
