Tusker FC are well on course to claiming this season’s BetKing Premier League (BPL) title, a feat that Mike Madoya has been dreaming about as according to him, it is the only accolade that remains to cap an impeccable club career.
The midfielder, currently in his fourth season with The Brewers, has already won the biggest individual honour when he was named league MVP in 2017 while at Zoo FC and wants to compliment this with a league crown.
“I have won individual trophies during my time at Zoo and now what remains is winning the league title. This is what I am working on now and dreaming of currently at Tusker. I believe if we win something as a team, I will have achieved a great feat and added a trophy to my cabinet,” Madoya is quoted as saying on Tusker’s official website.
This can be a reality for Madoya and the rest of his teammates if they maintain with their current momentum. Robert Matano’s men sit top of the log with a six-point gap after 16 rounds of play.
Though not having yet produced the individual highs that were synonymous with his while at Zoo, Madoya insists that his time at Tusker has made him a better player.
“Being at Tusker has been very different because here things are run professionally and it is a big team so definitely the expectations are big. Also, the financial aspect of the club and the general culture are different so it has been a huge learning process for me,”
“I have grown a lot since arriving at Tusker and I continue to learn every day. The things that I was doing at Zoo I can’t do them here because I have to work harder and match up with the expectations. I believe being here will make me a better player,” he opined.
After a two month break due to the high rise in Covid-19 infections in the country, league action is tentatively set to resume a week from now with Tusker expected to resume their title pursuit with a top of the table clash against KCB FC on Saturday 15th.
